Entombed - Morning Star (Koch Records, 2002)
Entombed have finally returned to putting out damn good quality albums. After "Wolverine Blues" they sort have lost their ability to put out a decent album. This really isn't like the old early 90's Entombed style, which I know many fans wish they would return to. However, this album is still extremely good. "Morning Star" is heavily laden with a lot of old school thrash elements similar to early Slayer. You can tell the drummer which is no longer Nicke Andersson, Entombed's original drummer, is heavily influenced by Slayer. Just listen to "About to Die" and you will see that even the riffing is akin to Slayer. I honestly don't think this album is as technical as their earlier material, but rather it is just good music. I would actually highly recommend this to any metal fan and for those who live in the past of older Entombed I would suggest listening to a sample of the album. For it is quite different, but this album is some good quality Death Thrash. (Cleric Curst)
